A BIG DISCLOSURE !! (EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS) Part 1
During the conquest of lands in Alexander the Great's campaign in Asia, the Macedonians gave their homeland names in conquered cities or in new cities that they settled. So we meet in Asia the names of the Macedonian cities of Pella, Edessa Veria, Aeges and many others.
Dimitris Savvidis on the page https://www.facebook.com/HiddenKastas/?fref=ts pointed out the finding of a piece of papyrus that was quite well preserved and referred to a trade deal with someone coming from a city called Amphipolis. And that would not be odd if the papyrus did not was located in a distant area of Afghanistan, proving that the Macedonians had established a town with the same name there! (photo 1)
Photo 2 - the Surkh Kotal area where the papyrus was found and was the second Amphipolis (area of ancient Bactria kingdom)
A follower of our page, Kons Agiak, has found some other similarity in the area. There is a tumulus which consists by artificially embankment like the Kastas hill that hosts the Amphipoli's tomb in Macedonian Amphipoli. It also has this perimeter wall as we meet in Kastas (photo 3,4) and dates back to the 3rd century BC (source :Jean-Claude Gardin: Die Ursprünge der Kushana-Keramik. In: Jakob Ozols und Volker Thewalt (Hg.): Aus dem Osten des Alexanderreiches. Völker und Kulturen zwischen Orient und Okzident. Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indien. DuMont-Dokumente, Köln 1984, S. 110-126.)
But did this Bactrian tumulus have also a Lion statue on its top as a sign? Here the answer is surely NOT. Even from a reference to " The Glorious History of Kushana Empire: Kushana Gurjar History, page 56) we learn that: "... Afghan mujahideen digging a trench at the top of the side, found along several other stone sculpture elements as the paws of GIANT STONE LION which have disappeared since..."
Instead at the top there was an ALTAR OF FIRE ! as revealed exclusively in the photo 5, dating back to the 3rd century and so belongs the first phase of construction of the Bactrian tumulus.
So obviously the presence of lion's statue was meant to mark a possible worship characterising the tumulus and did not play the role of the sign (σημα) on the top, as the excavation team assumes for the hill of the Macedonian Amphipoli's
At this point we have to mention that a long time ago and in several articles the numismatic expert Mr.Asterios Tsintsifos has assumed that the Kastas hill was a sanctuary of the Caveirian worship and at this type of sanctuary had always been a source of light ! as we are now revealing about the Bactrian tumulus.
To force his view , Mr A.Tsintsifos presented a series of coins that have been struck exclusively in the Macedonian Amphipoli at a period that Alexander was alive and shortly after his death.
On these coins clearly appears the source of light and the construction from below that was probably a characteristic structure of the Macedonian Amphipoli. (photo 6)( At the oldest photo 3 which is from the early '70s we see a cone shaped structure that is similar to the base we see at the coins)
We are sure that this revelation will upset the assumption of the existence of the Amphipoli's lion at the top of the hill Kasta and therefore we will be back with a new post.
